Physician Newsletter - Summer Edition 2022: Peter W. Guyon, MD Pediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiology

Peter Guyon, MD, treats patients with all types of congenital heart disease, from relatively simple conditions like atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) to complex conditions like hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and transposition of the great arteries (TGA) in the hospital's Pediatric Heart Institute. He also performs interventions such as transcatheter valve replacement and is part of a team that cares for adults with congenital heart disease.

Dr. Guyon has always been fascinated by science and technology and was drawn to a career as a physician by the social aspects of medicine and getting to work directly with patients and families. While he enjoys working with patients of all ages, he has a special place in his heart for babies and toddlers with congenital heart disease.

Dr. Guyon’s work spans simple clinic visits to emergency interventions for critically ill patients and everything in between. He helps patients and families understand their diagnosis and the various treatment options available to them. Then he partners in the decision-making process to choose the best plan forward.
